Dr. Gordon Shields is Senior Director of the Consumer Insights & Advisory at J.D. Power Singapore. He is responsible for providing insights, analytics and thought leadership around consumer and business developments in the automotive industry. Leveraging his extensive experience across product and retail sectors.
Before taking on his present role, Gordon was also responsible for the research operations in the region covering 11 markets. During his initial period in Singapore, Gordon established the service practice which now provides syndicated products in Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. Earlier at the company, Dr. Shields was a Research Director based in Europe. In that role, he was responsible for managing syndicated automotive, financial, telecom and proprietary projects throughout the region.
Prior to joining J.D. Power in 2003, Dr. Shields served as Senior Analyst at Oxford Research International in the United Kingdom and Germany managing financial, FMCG and media studies in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and across Asia.
Previously, he was Senior Consultant at KAE, London, a strategy consultancy. Dr. Shields earned a Bachelor’s degree in combined humanities from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.
He also holds a Doctorate in politics from the Universität Tübingen, Germany, and was a visiting doctoral student at Oxford University.
